London, 29 July 2013
Autumn/Winter 2013 on sale July 25
The award-winning British catwalk bible, ELLE Collections (Autumn/Winter 2013), on sale July 25, has been redesigned with the introduction of a fashion first newspaper pull-out, a Chinese shopping guide and two world exclusives.
ELLE Collections, published by the world’s biggest selling fashion magazine ELLE UK, has produced a special edition to target the high spending Chinese tourists in the UK. 10,000 copies have an additional London shopping guide in Mandarin Chinese which will be disturbed at key hotels, airlines and tour operators. It will also be available digitally via Apple news stand.
Overseen by Editor-in-Chief, ELLE UK and ELLE Collections, Lorraine Candy and edited by newly appointed Editor, ELLE Collections, Rebecca Lowthorpe, the hotly anticipated new look seasonal fashion magazine features a 16 page newspaper pull-out – the first for a fashion glossy – which will include a round-up of all the latest catwalk shows.
The 180 page issue also showcases two world exclusive fashion stories including a never-seen-before photographic portfolio of intimate and unique self-portraits from some of the biggest designers in the fashion industry, and a limited edition pin-up poster of model Sky Ferreira, shot and art directed by Saint Laurent Creative Director Hedi Slimane.
The designer photographic portfolio features 36 unique images, taken and illustrated by the designers themselves, showcasing the hands that create the clothes we covet and turn fantasy into reality.
Each distinctive image celebrates the designer’s individual creativity, style and personality. They include Dolce & Gabbana, Dries Van Noten, Erdem, Christopher Kane, Roksanda Ilincic, J W Anderson, Simone Rocha, Hussein Chalayan, Giles, Isabel Marant and many more.
The 594mm by 840mm Sky Ferreira poster is bound into the latest edition of ELLE Collections and will be available as a collector’s item to all readers who buy the issue.
Rebecca Lowthorpe, Editor ELLE Collections, says: ‘For my first issue as Editor of ELLE
Collections, we wanted to explore the idea of collaborating with as many designers as possible, so we asked fashion’s biggest rebel, Hedi Slimane, to photograph and art direct an exclusive pin-up poster. He chose to shoot Sky Ferreira, his long time muse – a young woman that, for him, sums up rebel spirit – the result is stunning.’Lorraine Candy, Editor-in-Chief, ELLE UK and ELLE Collections says: “In the seven years I have overseen ELLE Collections it has become a cult magazine. There is nothing like this innovative bi-annual on the UK news stand and its evolution is further proof of the demand for high quality print products. I am very proud of the new issue which is ground breaking in content, and am even prouder to launch the first Tumblr out of ELLE on the back of this magazine’s well respected profile.”
ELLE Collections – the must-have guide to the new fashion season – has a cover price of £7 and is also available as a digital edition on Apple Newsstand. The magazine features different paper stock throughout, adding to the unique look and feel of the title and increasing the books collectable value.
