COTTM started in 2005 and has gradually built up a good reputation as the only trade-only outbound focused trade event in China. It is run by a UK based PLC, Tarsus Exhibitions and has garnered support from several associations and organizations such as: COTRI, PATA, NTA, ETOA.

It has attained the Silver level of the China Outbound Travel Quality Award Label in 2008. COTTM runs a hosted buyer prorgram for travel agents in China, mainly from Beijing and the North East of the country. It is a good event to promote your destination or service to China's NE region.
